  • Q: How do you remove and replace the various switches in Nissan 350Z?
    A: First, open all the windows in both, G35 Coupes and 350Z and then remove the connection of the negative terminal of the battery. Levered at the left end of the instrument panel on the knee bolster trim panel are different switches which include; Instrument Panel Brightness Control Rheostat (For G35 models), Trunk Lid Release Switch, Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) OFF switch, Fuel Filler Neck Lid Opener Switch (For 350Z models), Soft top Operating Switch (For 350Z Roadsters) Take out the knee bolster trim panel and pull off the electrical connectors of the switches. In case of switch removal, there are release tabs to be pressed while pulling it out from behind the panel and alike, there are tab to be pressed while installing a new switch. The mirror adjustment switch is bolted to the front of the IP/ cluster assembly below the instrument trim bezel; release the retaining tab of the instrument trim bezel and pull the trim forward to remove the trim; remove the screws holding the adjustment switch and disconnect the electrical connector. This is located in the center console, pull the knob facing the operator, take out its screws to detach the console, pop off the connector by using a tab and pull it off to remove the switch. For the heated seat switches located in the center console, follow a similar procedure: unplug the cables you'll have to remove the console, then disconnect the electrical connector, and pry the mounting brackets off to remove the switch. Last but not the least, the trunk lid opener switch; this switch is located inside the glove box, you will first have to open it and then you will have to pry out the switch after which you remove the electrical connector and the process of installation is the reverse of the above mentioned process.
