  Q: How to replace the air filter on Nissan Armada?

  A: The air filter is installed into the housing which is placed near the left-front side of the engine Bay. To replace the filter, the clips fastening the halves of the housing have to be unscrewed and the upper half has to be moved aside so that one could take out the filter element. This includes removal of the clips on the filter housing, opening of the cover, removal of the old filter and replacement with a new one. It is recommended that one should check the outer surface of the filter element. If it is soiled it should be changed. The shock and dust generator can be reused if it is only moderately dusty, through the use of compressed air on it, blowing it from the back toward the front surface. Still, unlike other common filters, such as foam or cotton gauze ones, this is a pleated paper type that cannot be washed or oiled. They should be replaced if it cannot be cleaned with compressed air satisfactorily Depending on how contaminated it has become, the isolation plates may have to be disposed of and new ones prepared. While the cover is off extra care should be taken not to drop anything into the housing of the compressor. The inside of the air cleaner housing must be cleaned. The new filter should be then installed into the air cleaner housing where it ought to take the right position.
