  Q: How do you remove and refit the Intake Manifold on Nissan Juke?

  A: To remove the manifold, therefore start with the removal of the battery's negative terminal connection. For 1.2 litre engines, disconnect the Air Duct, then loosen the bolts and shift the coolant expansion tank. Unbolt the crankcase ventilation hose, brake servo vacuum hose, charcoal canister purge, and water outlet vacuum hoses to the inlet manifold. After that, remove the inlet manifold pressure sensor and throttle housing wiring connectors and fully slide out the oil level dipstick to get better access to the centre manifold bolts. To do this all relevant hoses and wiring should be disconnected thereafter the manifold bolts starting from the outside moving to the centre should be removed; the manifold should then be gently pulled away from the cylinder head and out of the vehicle's engine compartment along with a rubber gasket which should be disposed. Precautions for 1.6 litre engines include draining the cooling system, removing the outlet air duct and the hoses from the coolant expansion tank prior to removing the latter. Take off the oil level dipstick, unlock the couple clips to disconnect the two coolant hoses from the throttle housing, and remove the throttle housing wiring connector. Remove the vacuum hoses and wires of the charcoal canister purge control solenoid valve and then remove the bolts that hold manifold to the cylinder head cover on both sides. Pull off the brake servo vacuum hose, ensure all the cables and hoses are detached and unscrew the manifold retaining screws. Last of all, slide the manifold to the side, and out of the engine compartment and throw the rubber gasket. When refitting, check and make sure that the mating surfaces are free from contamination and that they are also dry; replace the rubber gasket with a new one, correctly position the manifold and tighten the bolts for retaining the manifold to the correct torque, with an initial bolt in the center followed by the bolts arranged in a spiral form. Check that all concerned hoses are connected properly to their previously used positions, and that they are well fixed; for 1.6 litre engines replace the fluid in the cooling system as required.
