How do you remove and install the steering gear on Nissan Sentra?

To change the Rack And Pinion, first align the wheels to a straight ahead. Subsequently, disconnect the lower intermediate shaft bolt and take out the intermediate shaft from the Rack And Pinion. Before that you should loose the front wheel lug nuts, lift the car, put jack stands, and block the rear wheels for safety. Following that, detach the subframe and the Rack And Pinion mounting nuts and bolts. For installation procedure, the Rack And Pinion should be well centered from side to side and the surface of the mounting on the body side of the firewall seal should not have any damages. Put the Rack And Pinion on the subframe, screw in the bolts and then tighten it to manufacture recommended torque. After this, you need to reinstall the subframe, fit the wheels, replace the confidence inspiring lug nuts, drop the vehicle, and toque the lugs to the recommended tightness. Last but not the least, consider having the wheel alignment checked and get it done if there is a need to so.
