Nissan Versa Shock Absorber Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How do you remove and install a rear shock absorber on Nissan Versa?
A: You should then lightly loosen the rear wheel lugs then jack up the rear of the car and secure it on jack stands and block the front tires. This is done by first unbolting then withdrawing the wheel; supporting the lower rear suspension arm on a floor jack placed at the coil spring seat. Open the access cover and take out the upper end nut of shock absorber, next is the second bolt and nut of lower end of shock absorber. Remove the shock absorber and then perform the installation in a sequential manner opposite to the directions already taken. Lower the car again and tighten the suspension arm to the lower control arm with the jack to lock it in normal position and tighten its mounting bolts to the prescribed tension. Last you put on the wheel together with the lug nuts, jack down your car, and then turn the lug nuts to the recommended degree of tightness.
