Before pulling off the clutch master cylinder, one has to detach the negative terminal of the battery. Then, under the dashboard, unbolt the pushrod from the clutch pedal, where the clevis pin kept with the help of clip. Then, disconnect the ASCD pump to get the access to the hydraulic line and nuts which are used to mount the clutch master cylinder: first, take out the securing screw, and then the two nuts which are used to install the pump of this thing. Remove the hydraulic line connected to the clutch master cylinder by using flare-nut wrench rather than damaging the nut of the fitting and protect the working area by having rags that will help you catch any dripping fluid and should ensure that brake fluid does not get in to contact with paint. Subsequently, take off the nuts that fix the master cylinder to the firewall, without dripping any of the fluid. For installation, the master cylinder is placed on the firewall and the mounting nuts are to be screwed but not tightly. Attach the hydraulic line to the master cylinder, swivelling the cylinder as required to put the fitting within the hydraulic line as a way of preventing cross threading. With the master cylinder in place, then the nuts on the master cylinder and hydraulic line fitting should be tightened. Lastly, assemble the pushrod to the clutch pedal, add brake fluid of DOT 3 standard into the clutch master cylinder reservoir; perform the clutch bleeding procedure, inspect the clutch pedal distance and switch play.
