Start by removing the door trim panel. Then, release the control rod guide clip. Remove the retaining screws and pull the handle free from the door. Finally, disconnect the control rods from the rear of the inside handle. If there is a retaining screw trim cover, pry it out before detaching the inside handle retaining screw. Slide the handle back to disengage it from the door. The installation process is the reverse of removal.

To remove the door trim panel and plastic water-shield, you need to first detach the latch retaining screws from the end of the door. Then, reach inside the door to release the latch from the control rods. If there is a door stiffening brace, remove it to access the rear of the latch. Finally, if your vehicle has power door locks, disconnect the electrical connector.
