Remove the bolts securing the tow hitch to the frame and take off the hitch, disconnecting the trailer harness if necessary. Remove the lower bumper fascia reinforcement screws and the rear bumper reinforcement, then disconnect the electrical connectors for the license plate lights and sonar sensors if equipped. Remove the license plate lamps and sonar sensors from their retainers, disconnect the step pad clips from under the bumper, and take off the pad. Finally, remove the bolts securing the bumper to the rear bumper reinforcement and take off the bumper, ensuring to tighten the retaining bolts or screws securely during installation.
