The sunroof is powered by a single motor located in the roof, with the sunroof switch (tilt and slide) sending an operation signal to the motor's CPU encoder when pressed. Power is supplied to the motor from the Body Control Module (BCM) under the instrument panel, while the front door switch detects the open/close condition and sends an operating signal to the BCM. The sunroof retains power for 45 seconds after the key is turned off, which can be canceled by opening the front door, turning the ignition switch to ON again, or allowing the 45 seconds to elapse. With the ignition On but the engine Off, the sunroof control switch can be operated through the tilt and slide functions, and the sound of the motor running should be audible. If the motor is heard but the sunroof glass doesn't move, there may be a problem with the drive mechanism. If there is no sound from the motor, checking the fuses in both the interior fuse panel and the engine compartment power distribution center is necessary. If voltage is present at the switch, it should be disconnected and checked for continuity in all operating positions; if continuity is absent, replacement is required. If obvious causes are eliminated, a visit to a dealership service department or a properly equipped repair shop is recommended.
