    Q:
How do you properly remove and reinstall the Instrument panel on Nissan Titan? Posted by Customer
    A:
Aggravating in this procedure is the fact that most are done in the comfort of the home thus the home mechanic has delicate task of disassembling and handling many electrical connectors. If done it is necessary to take a lot of photographs and put the marks on all connector and their fastening points to assemble them back. First, trace the cable to the negative terminal of the battery then unplug the latter. Then, pull the instrument panel and remove the center console, steering column covers and lower the steering column. Move to removing all dashboard trim panels and the glove box, then proceed to remove the instrument cluster, radio unit, and heater/air conditioner controls. Kneel the kick panels on both sides of the instrument panel, the left and right trim strips in the windshield posts, and pop the defrost grille to view the upper mounting bolts and the dash speakers while disengaging the optical sensor in case it is installed. In case of cars produced up to 2007, first, unscrew the side vent top boards and the vent securing bolts; second, take away the passenger side airbag. Remove the lower center, the main instrument panel to cowl support beam and the driver side, center mounting screws of the car. Pull out the two floor to instrument panel braces and take off the passenger's side mounting screws. Be sure to ensure that all electric connectors have been tagged and disconnected before you lift up the main panel and look for any screws you may have missed. The removal of the cowl support beam is equally challenging because of many electrical connectors to unplug; it should only be done if the access to the heating/air conditioning unit is needed. The reverse process is done for installation; all fasteners and electrical connectors should be checked and secured before reinstalling the trim panels.
