    Q:
How do you replace the front door latch, lock cylinder, outside handle, inside handle, trunk lid latch, and lift gate latch on Nissan Versa? Posted by Customer
    A:
Steps to lock replacing involve first, removing the door trim panel and water shield then the cable retainers. To them, electrical connector should be disconnected; the rods should be detached and the mounting fasteners and the latch should be removed so as to allow for the removal of the latch fully, while the process of installation operation is the reverse of removal operation. Concerning the front door lock cylinder, the door trim panel and the water shield should be removed in order to access the small cover and its retainer which should then be unbolted and disconnected by pulling the cylinder out of the door through the opening, and for the door lock cylinder the process should also first start with the removal of the door trim panel and the water shield, secondly the latch rod and electrical connector should be disconnected, the ret To replace the outer handle on the front door outside insert the lower part of the door trim panel and remove the water shield, followed by unscrewing the lock cylinder, pinching the outer handle and pulling it towards the rear before both sliding the outer handle and the outside handle bracket behind it out, and reconnecting the latch cable before pushing the door trime panel back. The front door inside handle is best replaced in the following manner; remove the door trim and the UV water shield, take out the inside door handle fastener, pull the handle to release it from the door and disconnect the cables before fixing the new one in place. When replacing the trunk lid latch, you have to open the trunk lid part, take out the finish cover, draw an orientation line around the assembly of the latch and then, disconnect the electrical connection, take out the mounting bolts and then, reverse the process to put everything in place. To access the lift gate latch, remove the trim panel by pulling hard on the top and pushing on the sides, draw a circle around the latch assembly so the process will be easier in reverse, disconnect the circuit connector, and remove the bolts, and to put the whole thing back, do the reverse.
