1. Remove the driver's airbag unit. 2. With the steering in the straight-ahead position, remove the steering wheel. 3. Remove the steering column upper and lower shrouds. 4. Disconnect the wiring connectors below the steering column for the rotary connector and steering angle sensor. 5. Undo the two screws securing the rotary connector to the steering column. 6. Release the lower retaining clips and withdraw the rotary connector assembly from the steering column. 7. Use insulating tape to keep the rotary switch in position to prevent it from turning while it is removed.
