If the starter doesn't activate, proceed with the following steps: Check fusible links and fuses related to the starting circuit. Inspect the starter inhibitor or clutch interlock relay and associated circuits. Examine the Park/Neutral position switch (for automatic transmissions) or clutch interlock switch (for manual transmissions). Check the anti-theft alarm circuit and control module. Assess the engine for possible seizure.

To start, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
