First of all, you must relieve fuel pressure and take off the rear seat from the vehicle. Next, detach the fuel pump access cover and disconnect the electrical connector. Detach the fuel lines and remove the pump mounting screws. For 2000-2001 models, remove the pump assembly screws, lift the unit out, and remove the flange. For 2002-2003 models, remove the pump assembly screws, lift the unit out, and remove the fuel level sensor flange, sensor, and filter.

While cranking, the PCM supplies voltage to the fuel pump relay as long as it receives a position signal from the camshaft or crankshaft position sensor.
