Depressurize the fuel system, disconnect the battery, drain the fuel tank to 7/8, remove the rear seat and access cover. Disconnect the electrical connector and fuel supply line from the fuel pump module. Clean the area around the retainer, remove bolts, and lift the module to access the crossover tube. Disconnect the tube, remove the module, discard the old 0-ring, check the fuel inlet strainer, discard the old sensor 0-ring, and install a new one when replacing the module.

To replace the fuel filter, follow these steps:Remove the fuel pressure regulator by spreading the fuel pressure regulator mounting tangs apart.Pull the regulator out of the fuel filler housing.Remove and discard the old pressure regulator O-ring.

If the fuel pressure is lower than the specified value, you should check for a restriction in the fuel system. This restriction is likely caused by a clogged fuel filter or a clogged inlet strainer located at the base of the fuel pump/fuel level sensor module in the left fuel tank.
