Push the inner race back to remove the circlip and take off the inner bearing assembly.

To assess shock absorbers, park the vehicle on level ground with the engine off and the parking brake engaged. Check tire pressures and press down on each corner of the vehicle, observing its movement and rebound. The vehicle should come to rest in a level position within one or two bounces. If it continues to bounce or fails to return to its original position, it may indicate worn or weak shock absorbers. Repeat this test at the other three corners of the vehicle and raise it on jackstands to inspect the front struts and rear shock absorbers for fluid leakage, secure mounting, and damage. Replace the shocks as a set if leakage is found.
