To the seal lips apply multi-purpose grease, then position the flange pinion on the match marks and tighten the nut to required torque. Replace the driveshaft and look at the amount of lubricant there is in the rear differential. For 2014 and later models (excluding Rogue Select), you have to disconnect the Electric Controlled Coupling, then the seal can be pried from the differential housing, and the new seal should be fitted until it is just slightly below the surface of the housing using a seal driver, to be exact, the setting is 0.031 to 0.047-inch below the surface. Replace the Electric Controlled Coupling, the driveshaft, and examine the rear differential lubricant's level whether it is full or needs a refill.
