Slide intermediate shaft up off steering gear input shaft(Frontier and Xterra models) or transfer gear assembly(Pathfinder models), then pull shaft down off steering gear input shaft . Installation is reverse of removal. Matchmarks have to be aligned properly; moreover coupler bolts must be tightened to torque values. If there is a cutout on top of intermediate shaft, it should face pinch bolt.
