    Q:
How can you assess the condition of shock absorbers in the 2000 Nissan Quest? Posted by Customer
    A:
To assess shock absorbers, park the vehicle on level ground with the engine off and the parking brake engaged. Check tire pressures and press down on each corner of the vehicle, observing its movement and rebound. The vehicle should come to rest in a level position within one or two bounces. If it continues to bounce or fails to return to its original position, it may indicate worn or weak shock absorbers. Repeat this test at the other three corners of the vehicle and raise it on jackstands to inspect the front struts and rear shock absorbers for fluid leakage, secure mounting, and damage. Replace the shocks as a set if leakage is found.

    Q:

Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the wheels.

    Q:
What is the process for reassembling the strut and spring assembly for the 1994 Nissan Quest? Posted by Customer
    A:
If replacing the lower insulator, set it into position with the dropped portion seated in the lowest part of the seat, extend the damper rod fully, and install the dust boot. Place the compressed coil spring onto the lower insulator, ensuring the end rests in the lowest part of the insulator. Install the upper insulator and spring seat, ensuring the cutout on the spring seat faces out, in line with the strut-to-knuckle flange opening. Install the bearing onto the spring seat, followed by the dust seal and suspension support to the damper shaft. Finally, install and tighten the nut to the specified torque, carefully release the tension on the spring, and remove the spring compressor before installing the strut coil spring assembly.

    Q:
What should be done after supporting the axle for the 1993 Nissan Quest? Posted by Customer
    A:
After supporting the axle, take off the upper shock absorber nut at the frame rail, followed by the lower mounting nut at the axle, and then pull the shock absorber off its mounts.
