Here are the steps to replace the receiver/drier: Take the vehicle to a dealer service department or an automotive air conditioning shop to have the AC system discharged and the refrigerant recovered. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Disconnect the electrical connector at the compressor clutch cycling switch located on top of the receiver/drier. Disconnect the refrigerant inlet and outlet lines. Loosen the clamp bolt on the mounting bracket of the receiver/drier and slide the assembly up and out of the bracket. If replacing the receiver/drier, add two ounces of clean refrigerant oil to the new one. Place the new receiver/drier into position and lightly tighten the mounting bracket bolt, leaving room to align the line connections. Lubricate the O-rings using clean refrigerant oil and then reconnect the refrigerant inlet and outlet lines. Reconnect the electrical connector. Reconnect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
