    Q:
How do you remove and install headlights with regular seal beam type on Nissan 240sx? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove and install headlights on the 1982-83 200SX and Stanza with regular seal beam type, start by removing the headlight retaining ring screws, which include three or four short screws and two longer screws used for aiming; avoid tampering with the longer screws. For round headlights, turn the ring clockwise to remove it, then pull the headlight bulb from its socket and disconnect the electrical plug. To install, connect the plug to the new bulb, position the headlight in the shell ensuring the word "TOP" is at the top and the knobs engage the slots, place the retaining ring over the bulb, and install the screws. Check the headlight system for proper operation and adjust the aim if necessary. For the 1984-88 200SX and 240SX, if headlamps do not open, check the fusible link and retract switch; if they do not retract, check the retract control relay. Open the headlamp, disconnect the negative battery cable, unbolt and remove the finisher, then remove the headlamp lid and bulb retaining ring, unplugging and removing the bulb. Reverse the removal procedure for installation, ensuring the rubber cap with electrical connector is firmly in place, and adjust the headlamp lid for proper alignment with the hood and fender. For the Stanza with halogen headlamp type, disconnect the negative battery cable, and if necessary, remove the Anti-lock brake system electrical connectors for access. Turn the bulb retaining ring counterclockwise to remove it, disconnect the electrical connector, and carefully remove the bulb without shaking it. Install in reverse order and check operation, adjusting aim if necessary. Avoid leaving the reflector empty to prevent contamination and handle the bulb only by the plastic base. For manual operation of headlight doors, turn off both headlight and retractable headlight switches, disconnect the battery negative terminal, remove the motor shaft cap, turn the motor shaft counterclockwise by hand to open or close the headlights, then reinstall the motor shaft cap and reconnect the battery cable.

    Q:
How can headlights be correctly aimed to prevent blinding oncoming drivers and ensure optimal visibility on the road on Nissan 300ZX? Posted by Customer
    A:
The positioning of headlights to the external visors should be well done to reduce comprising the sight of the oncoming vehicles and to enhance the vision on the road. Headlights feature two spring-loaded adjusting screws: One of the sockets is used for vertical mobilisation and the other for horizontal mobilisation and as for the auxiliary lights they have one screw for vertical mobilisation. To check the headlights, park it on a level ground, 25m away from a luminous white wall or any light colored wall, the tires are properly inflated the fuel tank is full and the weight of the driver sitting on the seat. First, bring the car in front of the wall and then switch on the car lights. To do this, use the masking tape and make a circle around the car then draw vertical lines passing through the middle of the car to make markings for each of the headlights. Horizontal tape line shall also be placed as the centerline of all headlights as well. First, position the low beam adjustment on the chassis, and set the point of high-intensity zone slightly below the horizontal axis and four inches to the right of the headlight vertical line, then tighten the screws. Finally, when using the high beams, place the region of high illumination four inches below the line of the horizontal respectively bearing in mind that low beams are safer. Auxiliary driving lights can be tilted up and down by means of this top screw.
