With the vehicle unloaded and parked on a level driveway, measure the length of the load sensing valve spring. Have an assistant sit on the rear seat and then slowly step out of the vehicle to stabilize the suspension, then recheck the spring length. If it is still incorrect, adjust the spring length by loosening the eye bracket opposite the load sensing valve, adjusting the spring length, and tightening the bracket bolts to the specified torque. The dual load sensing valve is mounted on the frame above the axle and is not serviceable; if malfunction is suspected, it should be checked by a dealer service department or a repair shop equipped with the necessary pressure gauges. If the valve is leaking or determined to be defective, replace it by unscrewing the four brake lines with a flare-nut wrench and unbolting the valve from its mounting bracket. After installing the new valve, tighten the bolts to the specified torque and bleed the brake system.
