Measure the thickness of the center of the lifter with a micrometer.

The machine shop will remove the valves and springs, recondition or replace the valves and valve seats, recondition or replace the valve guides, check and replace the valve springs, spring retainers, and valve stem keepers (as necessary), replace the valve seals with new ones, reassemble the valve components, and ensure the installed spring height is correct. The cylinder head gasket surface will also be resurfaced if it's warped.

After replacing the lifters, reinstall the camshafts, and complete the installation in reverse order of removal.

Turn the crankshaft 240 degrees clockwise to position the number 3 cylinder at TDC on the compression stroke, then measure and record the clearances of the indicated valves.

The machine shop will remove the valves and springs, recondition or replace the valves and valve seats, recondition or replace the valve guides, check and replace the valve springs, spring retainers, and valve stem locks as necessary, replace the valve seals with new ones, reassemble the valve components, and ensure the installed spring height is correct. Additionally, the cylinder head gasket surface will be resurfaced if it is warped.
