1. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts. 2. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. 3. Remove the front wheels. 4. Remove the shock absorber lower and the fasteners that attach the upper end of the shock to the frame. 5. Ensure the lower shock assembly mounting bolt and the spring end are facing outward. 6. Remove the fasteners that attach the upper end of the shock to the frame. 7. Do not remove the nut from the damper shaft. 8. Turn the steering knuckle outward for clearance, then remove the shock absorber.
