Well to completely take off the wiper arm, first engage the wiper motor then stop it so that the arm can park. For locating position of windscreen or tailgate wipers, fix a piece of tape besides the wiper blade that should be used in refitting the windscreen, though most cars are fitted with marks on the windscreen for this purpose. Subsequently, the last connected pieces are removed: the first involves unplugging the plastic cover which is on the wiper arm spindle nut and the second is to loosen the nut then disconnect it. Raise and remove the blade up from the glass and pull the wiper from the spindle. If necessary, an appropriate puller should be applied to take the arm off the spindle; if both of the arms have been removed, one has to recall which arm belongs to the driver's side, and which one belongs to the passenger's side because different arms are used in each case. For refitting, make sure that the splines of the wiper arm as well as that of the spindle are clean and dry. When fixing wiper blade, one has to make it parallel to the mark on the screen or the tape placed before on the winder screen or the tailgate. If both front windscreen wiper arms have been removed, then they must be re-fitted in accordance with the noted positions. Finally, tighten the spindle nut and then replace the plastic nut cover to its appropriate position on the spindle nut.
