    Q:
How to remove and install the caliper on Nissan Titan? Posted by Customer
    A:
On Armada models equipped with a rear auto-leveling suspension, turn the ignition key to the OFF position before raising the vehicle. This procedure applies to the front and rear disc brake calipers. To remove, loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle and place it securely on jackstands. Block the wheels at the opposite end. Remove the wheel. For front caliper (all models) and rear caliper (Armada models), disconnect the brake hose from the caliper. Discard the old sealing washers. Plug the brake hose immediately to keep contaminants and air out of the brake system and to prevent losing any more brake fluid than is necessary. If you are simply removing the caliper for access to other components, leave the brake hose connected. Remove the caliper mounting bolts and detach the caliper. If the hose is still connected, secure the caliper with wire and don't let it hang by the hose. For rear caliper (Titan models), break loose the brake hose fitting, but don't unscrew it yet. If you're just removing the caliper for access to other components, don't loosen the hose. Remove the caliper mounting bolts, detach the caliper, then unscrew the caliper from the brake hose. If you intend to leave the hose connected, secure the caliper with wire and don't let it hang by the brake hose. For installation, the process is the reverse of removal. Don't forget to use new sealing washers on each side of the brake hose inlet fitting and be sure to tighten the fitting bolt and the caliper mounting bolts to the torque values. For rear caliper (Titan models), install a new sealing washer on the brake hose. Thread the caliper onto the brake hose as far as possible, but don't tighten the hose with a wrench yet. Install the caliper and mounting bolts, tightening the bolts to the torque. Tighten the brake hose securely. Make sure the hose isn't twisted. Finally, bleed the brake system. If the brake hose was not disconnected, bleeding won't be required. Make sure there are no leaks from the hose connections. Test the brakes carefully before returning the vehicle to normal service.
