To delete the ignition coil units, the engine head component found on top of each spark plug-ensure that the ignition switch is off and unbolt the battery negative terminal. Regarding 1.2 litre engines the inlet air duct that is above the engine should be removed while for the 1.6 litre engines the inlet manifold should be removed. Next, remove the wiring connector from the ignition coil, remove the retaining bolt and pull out the ignition coil from the cylinder head. For refitting the reverse of the preceding steps is followed, but particular attention should be paid to tightening of the coil mounting bolts, making correct connections to the wiring connectors, and the replacement of the inlet manifold for 1.6-litre engines.
