A vacuum seal is to be created in the hydraulic clutch master cylinder reservoir to minimize loss of the fluid while disconnecting the clutch slave cylinder hose. To do so, one is supposed to remove the cap and cover the opened reservoir using polyethylene before tightening the cap again. Then, lift the car up until it stands on jack-stands that will ensure it is firmly on the ground. Unthread the flare nut of the clutch line on the bracket installed on the body sidemember and then, free the locking clip on the bracket and release the hose. It is time to unscrew the clutch hose from the clutch slave cylinder and unscrew the two bolts that hold the clutch slave cylinder to the clutch housing, which then can indeed be taken out. On installation, apply E-Chlor grease at the end of the clutch slave cylinder push rod that rubs against the operating arm; fit the clutch slave cylinder to the transmission housing and tighten the bolts. Refit the clutch hose to the clutch slave cylinder, slide it back in its clip, and lock the joint with the help of the clip. Last, take off the polyethylene sheeting from the clutch reservoir, put back the cap, and bleed the hydraulic system, and then take off the jackstands and lower the vehicle.
