The evaporator core is located between the heater and blower housing. Before replacing, confirm the core is leaking via a leak test at a dealer service department or auto air conditioning repair facility. To replace, first have the refrigerant discharged at a dealer or service shop. Disconnect the refrigerant lines, remove the glove box assembly, right-side under-dash panel, and the reinforcement bar. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the bolts retaining the blower/evaporator case. Separate the case halves to remove the evaporator core. Installation is the reverse process. Add new refrigerant oil to the new core's outlet tube and consider replacing the evaporator core orifice. Some models have an auxiliary rear heater/air conditioning system, with similar removal and installation procedures. If replacing the rear evaporator core, add new refrigerant oil and consider replacing the orifice tube. Finally, have the system evacuated, recharged, and leak tested.
