To remove the front bumper on models from 1993 through 1998, apply the parking brake, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Disconnect the negative battery cable followed by the positive battery cable, then wait ten minutes. Detach the plastic clips securing the front lower edge of the bumper cover and the retaining screws in the front wheel opening that secure the bumper cover to the inner fender well splash shields. Remove the bumper cover-to-body attaching screws and nuts, then take out the turn signal lights and the upper bumper cover bracket bolts before removing the bumper cover itself. For the bumper, remove the retaining bolts and pull the assembly out and away from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal. For models from 1999 and later, apply the parking brake, disconnect the battery cables, and wait ten minutes. On 1999 and 2000 models, remove the radiator grille, then take out both front combination lights and headlight assemblies. If equipped, remove the screws and clips for the fog lamp assemblies, detach the clips securing the front bumper to the radiator support, and raise the vehicle on jackstands. Detach the clips for the left and right splash shields and the clips securing the front bumper to the bumper reinforcement. Remove the nuts securing the front bumper to both front fenders and pull the assembly away from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the rear bumper, apply the parking brake, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Detach the plastic clips and screws securing the upper and lower edges of the bumper cover, then remove the screws in the rear wheel openings and the front lower edges of the bumper cover. Open the rear liftgate and storage compartment doors for access to remove the bumper cover retaining nuts, then pull the bumper cover assembly out and away from the vehicle. To remove the bumper, take out the retaining bolts, remove the side marker lights, and pull the bumper assembly away from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal.
