To remove the outside handle, disconnect the control link rod from the outside handle. Then, remove the outside handle retention nuts and pull the handle from the door. On front doors, the outside handle retaining nuts can be accessed through the holes in the door frame. On vehicles with rear doors, pry out the trim caps to access the outside handle retaining nuts. The installation process is the reverse of removal.
