    To remove the starter motor, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, then raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the splash shield from under the engine (if equipped). Disconnect the battery cable and the solenoid terminal connection from the starter solenoid. Unplug the electrical connector and battery cable from the starter motor. Unscrew the starter motor mounting bolts and detach the starter from the engine. To reinstall, switch the removal steps going from the last step to the first step.
