    Q:
How to check and replace the Wiper Motor on Nissan Frontier? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by ensuring that the battery is in the right shape and checking for slow wiper operation. If the battery is fine, lubricate or repair as may be necessary any binding or pivot problems on the wiper motor and its linkage. This could be due to a loose or corroded electrical connection. If everything is okay with all connections, then you may want to consider replacing your wiper motor. Begin by testing if there is a problem with the fuse before proceeding to connect the wiper motor briefly using a jumper wire on the temporary ground. In case this does not work check the condition of voltage at the motor by opening it up from under the cowl cover. Test the motor off vehicle after removing it using fused jumper wires if voltage exists at it. Replace it if it still does not work. In case there is no voltage at all, test continuity across switch terminals for switch continuity. To ensure that you have wiring continuity between switch and wiper amplifier, also check resistance of delay control knob when interval does not function properly. For parking failure, make sure to have a good ground at connector (<5 ohms). Take out switch wiring; if they stop replace switch; otherwise replace motor completes this process when wiping will not stop unless ignition turned off. Look through them carefully to find out whether there are any obstacles blocking their movement; otherwise and substitute new wipers However, First unhook battery's negative cable then take off right side windshield wiper arm and cowl cover for front wiper motor replacement. After this remove back wiper linkage from crank arm of rear window washer and disconnect electrical connector as well as remove screws retaining front windshield washer motor, then extract front windshield washer motor Assembly process follows in reverse order which was used during removal of parts With Xterra/Pathfinder rear window trims are removed through lift gate open after disconnection of battery cord with Pathfinder having its nut unscrewed in order to detach rear wiper linkage from crank arm of rear window washer. In addition, Xterra's wiper arm is removed along with nut cap, nut, and washers. Lastly, take out the electric plug by unscrewing motor mounting screws and removing it. If you are dealing with Frontier and Xterra models, you will locate the amplifier on the wiper motor but in the engine compartment of 2000 and older Pathfinders on its right inner fender panel. Unplug the electrical connector; remove the mounting fastener and amplifier. The right rear quarter panel trim should be removed for Pathfinder back amplifiers then unplug the electrical connector, unscrew, remove amplifier mount bolt Finally reinstallation of both front as well as back components should be carried out in reverse order to that used when they were removed.

    Q:
What should you check if your wipers fail to work when you activate them for the 2000 Nissan Xterra? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, check the fuse. If it's intact, establish a temporary ground connection to the wiper motor using a jumper wire.
