    Q:
How do you remove and install the crankshaft pulley on Nissan Titan? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Block the rear wheels and set the parking brake, then drain the cooling system. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. If equipped, remove the lower splash shield by taking out the mounting fasteners. Remove the engine cooling fan and fan shroud. Take off the drivebelt. Remove the starter and have an assistant wedge a large screwdriver into the ring gear teeth to prevent the engine from rotating, then unscrew the crankshaft pulley bolt. Remove the pulley; if it is difficult to take off, use a puller that bolts to the hub of the pulley, ensuring the proper spacer is used between the puller screw and the end of the crankshaft to avoid damage. Avoid using a puller with jaws that grip around the outside of the crankshaft pulley to prevent damage to the pulley. Depending on the length of the puller, it may be necessary to remove the radiator for sufficient clearance. To install the crankshaft pulley, align the pulley groove with the key on the crankshaft and slide it onto the crankshaft. Install the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt and tighten it to the specified torque. The remainder of the installation follows the reverse order of removal.
