Q:
How to disconnect the fuel pump module and Fuel Level Sensor in Nissan Armada? Posted by Customer
A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Armada models: To access the fuel pump inspection hole cover, disconnect or remove the following components: Remove the second-row left seat, the second-row center seat or center console and base, then remove the third-row rear seats. Disconnect the second and third-row seat belts from the floor. Remove the left 8-pillar trim, the left rear trim panel (behind the second-row left seat) and the left rear door sill plate. Peel back the carpeting to access the inspection hole cover. To remove the inspection hole cover, rotate the retainers clockwise 1/4-turn, then pull off the cover. Titan models: There is no fuel pump inspection hole on Titan models; remove the fuel tank. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector and lines. Mark the position of the fuel pump module in relation to the fuel tank, then unscrew the pump module lock ring. On Armada models, use large water pump pliers to loosen the lock ring. On Titan models, a special tool available at most auto parts stores can be used to loosen the lock ring, but a large pair of pliers will also work. Carefully pull the fuel pump module out of the tank. Angle the module as necessary to protect the fuel level sensor float arm. On some models, you might have to detach the fuel level sensor from the pump module before you can remove the pump module from the fuel tank. Remove and inspect the fuel pump/fuel level sensor O-ring. If the O-ring is damaged, replace it. To swap a fuel level sensor to another fuel pump module, trace the sensor harness to its electrical connector and disconnect it. To disengage the sensor from the pump module, depress the locks on each side of the sensor with needle-nose pliers and slide the sensor up. When installing the sensor module, make sure that the locks snap into place. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Q:
What are the general steps for reinstalling the fuel pump module for the 2011 Nissan Titan? Posted by Customer
A:
The installation process involves reversing the removal steps. Ensure that the fuel pump module is properly aligned, and the lock ring is securely tightened. If the O-ring was replaced, make sure it's properly seated. Finally, reverse the steps to reassemble any components that were removed to access the fuel pump inspection hole.
