For this, unlock the driveaxle and the boot clamps then follow the boot replacement process the aid of the slide hammer if required to pull the outer most CV joint. Check the condition of the bearing surfaces of the unit and use a grease packet to fill the joint before placing a boot with clamps, the pack should be full of grease. Last but not the least, mount the CV joint assembly onto the driveaxle with the splines the type of joint depending on its length inside the stipulated amount by hammering the joint with a hammer and small brass punch.
