The canceling switch of the cruise control is often identified as ASCD (Automatic Speed Control Device) switch and is mounted on a bracket above the brake pedal; this switch turns on the brake lights as well as cancels the cruise control every time the brake pedal is used. To test the brake light switch, observe if the brake lights come on the brake is pressed and goes off when the brake is released. If the brake lights do not come on or the cruise control does not cancel, check the brake pedal position before correcting the switch. To release, turn the switch anticlockwise 45 degrees, pull back the brake pedal and at the same time, move the switch into the bracket until the threaded part hits its stop and then turn it clockwise 45 degrees. For removal, once again disconnect the electrical connector, grab the top and bottom of the switch and turn it clockwise and push it forward, to remove it. And to replace it, just reverse the process. Last but not the least, set the brake pedal height and then set the switch as explained above.
