    Q:
How do you replace the transmission range switch on Nissan Rogue? Posted by Customer
    A:
The transmission range switch is mounted on the top of the transaxle. To replace it, first remove the battery and the battery tray. Then, remove the shift cable from the manual shaft and disconnect the electrical connector from the switch. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the switch. Installation is the reverse of removal. Adjust the switch and verify that the engine will start only in Park or Neutral. Also, verify that the back-up lights come on only in Reverse. Adjust the range switch as necessary to ensure that these conditions are met. For adjustment, set the parking brake and move the shifter to the "N" position. Loosen the control cable-to-manual lever nut and the range switch mounting bolts. Rotate the switch and insert a drill bit (4 mm) into the adjusting holes on both the switch and manual lever. Finally, tighten the mounting bolts and the control cable-to-manual lever nut.

    Q:
How do you remove and install the transmission range switch on the transaxle on Nissan Sentra? Posted by Customer
    A:
Looking at figure 6, the transmission range switch is fastened on the top part of the transaxle. The first step needs you to take out the air inlet duct Next, the control cable of the shift selector needs to be disconnected from the manual shaft in addition to the electrical connector of the switch. Subsequently, unscrew the mounting bolts to retract the range switch, and in the process of installation, reverse the points mentioned above, however, it is advisable to control the position of the switch at this time. Check that the engine will crank only when the transmission lever is in the Park or Neutral position, and the back-up lights illuminate only when the lever is in the Reverse range, adjusting that range switch if necessary. To adjust, engage the parking brake and turn the rotary dial to place the shift selector to the neutral position. Screw the range switch and ease the nut of the control cable to the manual lever to be unbolted. Turn the switch clockwise to expose the little holes M3 for adjusting the distance; insert a 4 mm drill bit on both the switch side and manual lever for alignment. Last of all, further fasten the three mounting screws as well as the control cable mounted to the manual lever nut.
