Q:
What is the location and function of the brake light and cruise control cancel switches on Nissan Sentra? Posted by Customer
A:
At the top of the brake pedal, there is a bracket that supports the brake light and cruise control cancel switches. Once depressed, these switches cause a vehicle's rear brake lights to turn on and canceling the cruise control. Just check if your brake lights come on when you step on the brake pedal and go off when the pedal is released- this will help you know whether your brake switch is ok or not. In case your brake lights don't come on or cruise control fails to cancel, make sure that the brake pedal is correctly adjusted and then try adjusting it as follows. To release it, turn the switch counterclockwise at 45degrees. Pull back and hold onto the pedal as you push into its bracket until the body (threaded part) of the switch touches against its stop. Turn clockwise 45 degrees to lock in place. This should be maintained between their pedals and their bodies. The plug E from connector of electrical switch should be unplugged. Reverse turning 45 degrees counter clockwise, remove pulling back to rear of switch assembly from socket bracket Withdrawal is opposite to installation procedure Do not forget to adjust the height of Brake Pedal before switching it in place.
