To begin, remove the steering wheel. Next, take off the top steering column trim piece by unscrewing the two retaining screws, followed by the bottom trim piece, which also requires the removal of two screws; pull down to release the plastic retaining clip and disconnect the electrical connector. Then, remove the screw that holds the switch assembly clamp to the column and spread the clamp to push it left, allowing you to lift the switch assembly and release the retaining tab. Unplug the electrical connectors from the back of the switch assembly and remove the lower trim panel, tracing the small wires from the switch assembly to their connectors under the dash to disconnect them. For replacing individual switches, unscrew the retaining screws on the front of the switch assembly and slide the components out; installation is the reverse of removal. Start installation by connecting the large electrical connectors to the back of the switch assembly, placing it on the steering column shaft, and connecting the small electrical connectors. Secure the assembly clamp with its retaining screw, ensuring the tab is in the notch of the column, then tighten the screw. Finally, replace the bottom and top column trim pieces, securing them with their respective screws, and reinstall the steering wheel.
