Remove the air filter housing. Pull up the Throttle cable and pass through a slot in the lever. Detach the cable casing from the bracket. Drain the transmission fluid, remove the fluid pan, and detach the cable from the lever and transmission. Detach the cable adjuster from the bracket, raise the vehicle, and support it firmly on jackstands. Depress the lock plate on the adjuster, pull the adjusting tube toward the adjuster, and release the lock plate. Have the assistant quickly depress the throttle open to full throttle. Mark the cable where it exits the boot and measure the total stroke of the cable.

When installing the accelerator cable, follow these steps: Installation: Install the cable through the firewall into the engine compartment. Connect Cable Clips: Attach any cable clips that secure the cable. Pass Cable Through Slot in Arm: Pass the cable through the slot in the accelerator pedal arm. Attach Cable End to Pedal Arm: Attach the cable end to the accelerator pedal arm. Secure Accelerator Cable to Bracket: Secure the accelerator cable to the cable bracket. Adjusting Nut and Locknut: Loosen the adjusting nut and locknut on the cable.

To detach the accelerator cable and cruise control cable (if present) from the throttle lever, follow these steps: Loosen Cable Locknut and Adjusting Nut: Begin by loosening the locknut and adjusting nut on the cable. Separate Accelerator Cable from Bracket: Separate the accelerator cable from the cable bracket. Remove Cable End from Accelerator Pedal Arm: Pull the cable end out from the accelerator pedal arm. Pass Cable Through Slot in Arm: Pass the cable through the slot in the accelerator pedal arm. Disconnect Remaining Cable Clips: Disconnect any remaining cable clips securing the cable. Remove Cable Through Firewall: Remove the cable through the firewall from the engine compartment side.

After detaching the cable casing from the bracket, the next steps involve draining the transmission fluid, removing the fluid pan, and detaching the TV cable from its lever. Remove the bolt and detach the cable from the transmission. Finally, detach the cable adjuster from its bracket and remove the cable.
