- Q: How do you remove and install the blower motor in Nissan 240sx?A: For the removal and installation of the blower motor in 1982 and later 200SX and 240SX models, first disconnect the battery ground cable and remove the instrument panel lower cover and cluster lid on the right side. Disconnect the control cable and harness connector from the blower unit, then remove the three bolts to take out the blower unit. Next, remove the three screws holding the blower motor in the case, unplug the hose from the rear of the motor, and pull the motor along with the tancage out of the case. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, ensuring to check the case for debris or signs of fan contact, inspect the fan for wear spots, cracked blades or hub, loose retaining nut, or poor alignment, and confirm the electrical connection is correctly positioned while checking the system for proper operation. In Stanza models from 1987 and later, the blower motor is also located behind the glove box, facing the floor in the blower housing intake unit, with similar removal and installation steps. For early models, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the blower motor retaining bolts, and push the blower motor insulator down to remove the motor, followed by checking for debris and inspecting the fan. In later models, disconnect the negative battery cable and the electrical harness from the blower motor, remove the retaining bolts from the bottom of the blower unit, and lower the blower motor from the case, ensuring to check for debris and inspect the fan during installation.
