How do you remove and install a front crankshaft seal on Nissan Armada?

Remove the crankshaft pulley. The seal is usually installed in the front cover and the main way of removing the seal is using a seal removal tool or a large screwdriver; be very delicate all the time otherwise the seal bore or the crankshaft may be damaged. Around the area where the seal connects to its housing, it is advisable not to scratch or gouge the housing or distort the corresponding part of the seal, since this will result into an oil leak. Scrub the bore to remove old seal material and dirt as well as to also remove corrosive materials from the surface. Place the new seal into the bore so the lip is inside the engine, towards the bore axis and apply a drop of oil to the outside of the seal and the inner surface of the lip. Place the bore onto the shaft and drive the seal into the bore with a seal driver or a large socket and tap it with a hammer until it is in the right position against the cover flange, and that the outside diameter of the socket matches that of the seal. Check the condition of the crankshaft pulley and more specifically the area that comes into contact with the oil seal should be grooved if the contact is frequent replace the crankshaft pulley. Apply engine oil on the seal lips and refit the crankshaft pulley with the help of the retaining bolt and tighten the same to the recommended torque. Reversal of the removal process completes the installation process, after which you should start the engine and inspect it for any signs of oil leakage.
