  Q: How do you remove and install the oil cooler in these engines on Nissan Armada?

  A: These engines feature enhanced cooling through an oil cooler integrated into an adapter at the front of the Oil Pan, connected by two hoses that lower oil temperature using engine coolant. To remove and install the oil cooler, first drain the engine oil and cooling system. Detach the hose clamps and remove the inlet and outlet hoses from the oil cooler, then take off the oil filter from the assembly. Unscrew the retaining bolt to remove the oil cooler along with the O-rings, and clean the mating surfaces of the oil pan and cooler thoroughly. Lubricate the new O-ring with clean engine oil and install it in the groove on the oil cooler. Replace the relief valve from the oil pan with a new one, position the oil cooler onto the aluminum oil pan aligning the casting tab, and install the retaining bolt, tightening it to the specified torque. Connect the oil cooler hoses, install a new oil filter, refill the cooling system with the appropriate antifreeze mixture, and add the correct type and amount of oil to the engine. Finally, run the engine to check for leaks, then turn it off for five minutes to verify oil and coolant levels, adding fluids as needed.
