How to remove and replace the thermostat in a cooling system on Nissan Murano?

Drain the cooling system. If the coolant is relatively new, or is in good condition, save it and reuse it. Unbolt the coolant reservoir and set it aside. Remove the IVT solenoid valve from the front cylinder bank. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the coolant inlet. If the hose is stuck, grasp it near the end with a pair of large adjustable pliers and twist it to break the seal, then pull it off. If the hose is old or deteriorated, cut it off and install a new one. Remove the thermostat housing/thermostat assembly (Thermostat mounting bolts). Note: If the thermostat is defective, you'll have to replace the entire cover/thermostat assembly. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to clean the gasket sealing surfaces thoroughly and always use a new gasket. Refill the cooling system. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature, then check for leaks and proper thermostat operation.
