At the top of the brake pedal, there is a bracket that supports the brake light and cruise control cancel switches. Once depressed, these switches cause a vehicle's rear brake lights to turn on and canceling the cruise control. Just check if your brake lights come on when you step on the brake pedal and go off when the pedal is released- this will help you know whether your brake switch is ok or not. In case your brake lights don't come on or cruise control fails to cancel, make sure that the brake pedal is correctly adjusted and then try adjusting it as follows.
