What are the steps for disassembling a ball and cage style inner CV joint for the 2005 Nissan Maxima? Posted by Customer

1. Remove both boot clamps and discard them, then slide the boot out of the way. 2. Mark the shaft, inner race, cage, and outer race for reassembly. 3. Pry the wire ring bearing retainer from the housing. 4. Pull the housing off the inner bearing assembly. 5. Remove the snap-ring from the groove in the axle shaft. 6. Slide the inner race off the axle shaft. 7. Pry the ball bearings from the cage and remove the cage. 8. Remove the stop ring for the inner race and the boot from the shaft.
