    Q:
Why are frequent oil and Oil Filter changes essential for preventive maintenance on Nissan Rogue? Posted by Customer
    A:
The next regular check analysis and changing of oil is crucial for regular maintenance as the oil thickens, dillutes, and contaminates, which results in faster wear of the engine. It is recommended that you have all the items you might need nearby such as rags or newspapers if there are spillages. P Meter the vehicle on level ground, bring the engine to normal operating temperature and turn off the vehicle and take off the filler cap. Chock the wheels and loosely install the jackstands underneath the car; place the drain pan beneath the drain plug, being careful of hot exhaust parts. Loosen and take off the drain plug using the right wrench, let the bad oil to flow, and check the plug for metal shavings. On the completion of such a draining process, the owners have to wash the plug or flap and its surrounding surfaces then fit and screw the plug or flap back. Place the drain pan under the oil filter and with the help of the filter wrench turn the filter in the anticlockwise direction and unscrew it but you need to be very careful not to spill the oil. Removes any of the old gasket that may be on the oil filter mounting surface then align the flange of the new oil filter with that of the old one. Apply engine oil at the gasket of the new filter to be placed and screw on it by hand and without using extra force, take all tools and rags out and then lower the vehicle. Open the car bonnet, use a funnel to pour four quarts of new oil and slide the dipstick to check the level of the oil and add when it is necessary. Turn on the engine, and look for stains of oil at the oil pan drain plug and oil filter, and tighten it if possible. Shortly, check the oil level once again and pump if necessary, also, during the first few times you are using the car after changing the oil check for any leaks or low levels of the oil. Lastly drain the old oil and take it for recycling, it should also be stored in an appropriate container to be taken for recycling.
