1. Wrap the axle shaft splines with tape to avoid damaging the boot and slide the boot onto the axle shaft. 2. Install the cage on the axle shaft with the smaller diameter side facing the center. 3. Install a new stop ring for the inner race and then the inner race onto the axle shaft. 4. Install the snap-ring that retains the inner race. 5. Move the cage over the inner race, aligning the match marks, and press the ball bearings into the cage windows. 6. Fill the outer race and boot with CV joint grease and pack the inner race and cage assembly with grease. 7. Slide the inner race, balls, and cage into the CV joint housing and install the wire ring bearing retainer. 8. Wipe excess grease from the axle boot groove and seat the boot properly. 9. Adjust the length of the CV joint and install the boot clamps. 10. Install a new retaining ring on the inner CV joint stub axle. 11. Install the drive axle (see Section 11).
