    Q:
How to check, adjust, and replace the brake light switch on Nissan Pathfinder? Posted by Customer
    A:
The brake light switch is usually located on the right side of the brake pedal's top bracket. To check it, note if the brake lights come on when the pedal is depressed and go off when released. To adjust, loosen the locknut, then screw the switch in or out to provide 0.012 to 0.039-inch (0.3 to 1.0 mm) clearance, with no pressure on the plunger and tighten the locknut. To replace, unplug the connector and loosen the locknut. Unscrew the switch, then install the new one and adjust. To reinstall, switch the removal steps going from the last step to the first step.

    Q:
How to remove and install a Brake Light Switch in a Nissan 350Z? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, to remove the brake light switch, start by depressing and holding the brake pedal, rotate the switch counterclockwise, and remove it from the bracket. To install the switch, pull up on the brake pedal, place the switch into the bracket filling, and then lock it in place. Next, inspect the mounting bracket for the switch(s). If the speed control switch is also being removed, use the same procedure. If it has a locknut setup loosen the locknut and unscrew the switch.
